2026 Scholarship Recipient

Jay’Mion Dugas was a strong candidate for this scholarship because of his resilience, work ethic, leadership skills, and dedication to positively impacting his community. Throughout his life, he has faced challenges that strengthened his determination, responsibility, and commitment to creating a successful future.

 

He values education and consistently pushes himself academically and personally to achieve his goals while serving as a positive role model for others.

Raised with the importance of discipline and perseverance, Jay’Mion learned to overcome obstacles by staying focused and motivated. He balances school responsibilities, personal challenges, and extracurricular activities with dedication and maturity. Academically, he strives to perform at his best, understanding that education is the key to future opportunities. He also hopes to inspire younger family members and others in his community to recognize the value of hard work and education.

Outside the classroom, Jay’Mion has developed leadership, teamwork, and discipline through sports and community involvement. These experiences taught him how to communicate effectively, handle pressure, and encourage others while remaining focused during setbacks. He is committed to giving back to his community through mentoring, supporting teammates, and participating in service opportunities. He believes true success comes not only from personal achievements but also from helping others succeed.
